Teddy Stadium - Jerusalem
Arch. Yosef Ben-Nayim with Arch. Pascual Broid
This unique stadium has blended the prevailing traditional Jerusalem stone construction with an industrial prefab approach. Finished in 1998, the 19,000-seat facility has turned into one of the city’s key urban icons.
GAB has recently been commissioned to develop a two-stage expansion plan here: The first part involves enlarging the stadium to a 31,000-seat capacity, to host the 2013 Maccabiah – Jewish Olympic Games, and thereafter a 50,000-seat capacity which will make it the new national stadium of Israel.
