Our Story

In 1984, Buenos Aires University alum Nathan Goldschmidt and Technion Institute of Technology alum Miko Arditty joined forces to establish a new architectural firm. Ten years later, they teamed up with Yossi Ben-Nayim, Bezalel Academy of Design and Technion Institute of Technology alum, to form GAB Architects. Initially focusing on residential and public projects, the firm gradually entered the field of sports architecture, working on the Teddy and Haberfeld stadiums. Following the 2001 Kiryat Eliezer Stadium Disaster, which resulted in the tragic injury of a 15-year-old boy during a crowd stampede, GAB was called to join the new “Safe Stadium” committee as architectural advisors in recognition of our experience and expertise. By working with the committee, the firm played a central role in developing new modern standards for stadium design in Israel. This helped ensure that all sports facilities conform to strict safety regulations while also making it possible to host international tournaments and events in the country. The committee’s recommendations revolutionized sports facility design in Israel. Today, hundreds of thousands can safely attend and enjoy sports and other events each year. Since then, GAB has continued to lead sports architecture in Israel, not only designing some of the country’s most iconic stadiums and arenas but also advancing sports culture on a national and grassroots level by putting particular emphasis on the design of training facilities and football academies nationwide.
