We designed the new municipal stadium in Ashdod as the centerpiece of the city’s emerging sports complex in Park Lachish, in the northern part of the city. The facility is planned according to international standards and is intended to meet UEFA Category 4 requirements – the highest level, allowing it to host official international matches, as well as large-scale cultural and sporting events.
Four Covered Stands Under a Continuous Roof
The stadium accommodates approximately 20,000 seats, organized into four covered stands beneath a continuous roof that wraps the entire facility. The exterior shell is constructed from advanced steel frameworks, designed to create dynamic plays of light and shadow throughout the day and to respond to the unique coastal environmental conditions. In the western stand, we integrated the public and administrative functions – a central lobby, offices, broadcasting boxes, VIP areas, and dedicated hospitality spaces. The pitch is designed as a hybrid surface combining natural grass with reinforced fibers, enabling intensive use and long-term durability. The stadium is an integral part of Ashdod’s new sports complex, which also includes a multipurpose hall, an Olympic-size swimming pool, training fields, and supporting facilities. Our goal with the entire complex is to serve the city and its residents, positioning Ashdod among Israel’s most advanced sports venues.
